Born and raised in Mississippi, Buzz Stone graduated from R.H. Watkins High School in Laurel before earning a Business Administration degree with a music industry concentration from Belmont University in Nashville.

Buzz launched his career at Warner Brothers Records as Director of Artists and Repertoire, before being recruited to MCA Records by legendary producer Jimmy Bowen. As Head of A&R at MCA, he worked alongside Reba McIntire, George Strait, Tricia Yearwood, and Vince Gill.

He later joined Capitol Records as Vice President of A&R, where he helped launch international superstar Garth Brooks. With over 10 Gold and Platinum Record awards to his name, Buzz returned to Mississippi to build something of his own.

Trace Record Group handles all aspects of an artist's career — development, recording, live performance, publishing, and record sales — operating out of Tupelo's historic studio complex, Trace Recording Studio, designed and built by Sam Phillips of Sun Records fame.
